Meet Aly, LICSW
Clinical Supervisor
One of my core values as a practitioner is to understand and empower a client as a whole person. Overall wellbeing is based on many factors including genetics, generational trauma, attachment style, social and environmental issues, access to healthcare, and so much more. When working on a diagnosis, I find it important to thoroughly assess a client's symptomatology, their strengths, their culture, their interpersonal relationships, and the life experiences they have encountered. I then work to differentiate between various diagnoses to give clients the most accurate information about their current mental wellbeing. One thing I can guarantee when we meet is that you will feel heard, understood, and valued. As soon as we begin our working relationship, my mission is to advocate for you and your needs. This means I will take the information you give me during an intake and present it as accurately as possible to the therapist that will begin your treatment.
I hold a bachelors and masters degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I currently live in central Nebraska with my husband and two children and work full time as a high school Social Worker. I also sponsor the high school’s LGBT club to provide safe spaces and advocacy for vulnerable students. I have been working with children (birth-19) and families for 14 years, with 6 years of clinical experience. My specialty includes identifying trauma, attachment styles, and neurodivergence and the impact these areas have on a client’s current mental wellbeing. I also specialize in supporting and treating individuals who are ADHD and/or LGBTQIA2S. In addition to my professional experience, I serve on the Nebraska chapter board of directors for the National Association of Social Workers in support of Certified Social Workers across the state. In my free time, I love to travel and explore new places with my family. I also enjoy cross stitching, solving puzzle games, and binge watching my favorite TV shows.
